Scaling Auxtail: The EV-Integrated Bike Rack Revolution
With rising EV adoption and the explosion of cycling culture in Europe, there’s a growing gap in vehicle accessories that align with sustainability, urban constraints, and outdoor lifestyles. Auxtail was born from this shift — a modular, EV-compatible bike rack that seamlessly integrates with modern hatchbacks and SUVs. My mission: lead the business development roadmap to transition Auxtail from concept to a fundable, scalable business.
My Role & Responsibility
I structured the market-entry roadmap, initiated OEM and retail partnerships, led user validation in UK & EU markets, scoped a €100K funding strategy, created traction metrics, and shaped the product's modular positioning across both D2C and B2B mobility sectors. I also handled GTM strategy, pricing, and DFMA-business alignment.

02
Objective & Insights
Validate product-market fit for EV-specific bike racks across urban micro-mobility users
Develop a business model scalable via both D2C retail and B2B fleet partnerships
Build investor and market readiness through modular product-market fit, crowdfunding viability, and showcasing demand
Problem Hypothesis
Current bike racks fail to meet the evolving needs of EV users — from aerodynamic impact to trunk accessibility and parking limitations. Users lack a compact, sustainable, modular option that supports modern commuting behaviors and the unique structure of electric vehicles.
03
Solution
Developed a 3-channel GTM strategy: D2C, OEM, and B2B pilots
Structured a funding plan via Investors and grants
Validated demand through multi-market user testing and early traction metrics
Business Value
Auxtail taps into the intersection of green mobility, lifestyle outdoor gear, and EU-backed sustainable innovation. By combining user-driven product design with scalable business architecture, it opens up recurring revenue streams, premium positioning, and fleet-based partnerships across Europe.

04
Impact & Limitation
Initiated Product-Market Fit testing with early adopters to build trust and validate market fit
Collected user traction across UK regions via surveys and field testing
Established early partnership and investor conversations to support scaling
Further Action
The focus is on building traction through a D2C-led launch. Crowdfunding will serve as the go-to-market entry point, supported by community building and early user advocacy. Long-term, the exit strategy involves positioning Auxtail for acquisition with a royalty-based licensing model, creating recurring value from IP and design ownership while enabling larger partners to scale production and distribution.
